Dream Within a Dream

Okay, first, the drive to do this comes from seeing someone say they keep mixing Suwabe and Okiayu and I'm all "WTF bitch? How are they in any way similar?" And then I realized not as many people are OCD about voices the way I am.

And since everyone has a list of (male) seiyuu favorites, I'll post mine up too, except it's probably completely and utterly obvious, so it's not like you actually care. Anyway!

Note: I am doing the translation from Chinese fanslations, so you can imagine...well, lots of lost in translation. Also, the Chinese translations are so grammatically awkward the English translations are bound to have some issues. Things in [brackets] are Cashew's comments.


1. Before the event, an alarm is sent over which has recorded lines requested by the fans.
Okiayu-san: "A kiss to get you up"... Why do I have to say this? There are actually such people in the world. Are they happy listening to this kind of alarm clock?
Guest: So embarrassing.
Okiayu-san: I have to read the line, I should be the one who is embarrassed! [Hee! Oki's so cute!]

2. Question from fans.
●Why did you dye your hair blond?●
Okiayu-san: Blond hair?
It would seem Okiayu-san wasn't even aware of his blond hair.
●What did you do for Golden Week?●
Okiayu-san: Work. [Oh Oki, you're such a hard worker! *pets*]
●The event should've been held in a larger arena!● [This is a question? o.O]
Okiayu-san: People would be unhappy if we had to collect a fee [to make up for the rental fee of the grounds].
●Please use your recording voice to say something!● [Wow, people really don't grasp the concept of a question.]
Okiayu-san: Don't wanna. [Pfffft, dork!]
●"Haruka" no Oni [Demon of Haruka] event is...?●
Okiayu-san: Not happening. [Literally, "does not exist".]

3. The opening speech Okiayu gave during one event.
"Hello, I am Okiayu Ryoutarou. I have no idea what I'm going to talk about today. [Literally, "I didn't think at all about what to say today."] (laughs) So this time, dara dara to..." [The last line is translated to mean something along the lines of "I'll adlib my way through and whatever..." The dork! ♥]

4. Question from Guests.
Okiayu-san: I didn't study much as a student.
Guest-san: Did you like to study?
Okiayu-san: Hate it! (resolute)

5. More questions from Guests.
●Will you get a hair style where all the hair is standing on end? [Literally, "where the hair is vertical".]
"I won't." (very crisply)
In recent years, because he thought it was fun, Okiayu dyed his hair many different colors. Red, green, tea-colored.
The first time, Okiayu-san dyed his hair by himself.
The day after he dyed his hair for the first time, he went to the Weiβ recording and no one noticed he dyed his hair tea-colored.
Feeling very lonely, Okiayu-san decided to challenge hair dying again that day. [Oh Oki... Really, we're a bit over sensitive aren't we?]

6. Okiayu meeting fans at a book store (Ishikawa Hideo was sitting beside him as a guest.)
●At a nondescript bookstore.

One day, Okiayu-san was walking past the anime section of a bookstore, and unintentionally saw a girl whose actions were questionable was staring at him. [Bwahahah, fangirl stalker!] "Oh crap!" he thought and began walking towards places that people don't usually notice. However, the girl followed over.
"Isn't it Okiayu-san?" (At this moment, Okiayu-san, who was narrating the story, pitched his voice very high.) [Dork!]

And so Okiayu-san tried even harder to escape, and the stubborn girl (probably a fan [No fucking kidding.]) who continued to chase after kept asking, "Okiayu-san? Aren't you Okiayu-san?"

Girl: Isn't this Okiayu-san?
Okiayu-san: You got the wrong person. (-_-;) [*headfloor* Oki...I don't think...um...you talking is going to help convince otherwise. XD]
Girl: Then who are you?
Ishikawa-san: Why should he tell you~~!? --Right? (*rofl*) [Two dorks. Two.]
Before, Okiayu-san, Midorikawa-san, Sakaguchi-san were walking together [This was during E.M.U days wasn't it?], a Midorikawa fan was edging closer.
Girl: Is this Midorikawa-san?
Okiayu-san: You got the wrong person! (-_-;) (laughs) [I think the laugh here is from the person telling the story, not Oki himself.]
Girl: Midorikawa-san, please sign! [Asking for an autograph.]
Midorikawa-san: Sure~~♪♪（＾_＾）
Okiayu-san's inner voice: What about me!! ＼（￣ロ￣；） [See, Oki? This is what you get for avoiding rabid stalker fangirls.]

7. Onosaka Masaya gave Okiayu an "Okiayu theme song".
"I am Okiayu Ryoutarou (ya ya ya)
Want to eat but don't have money (ya ya ya) [Oh god, I'm imagining this being sung in extremely off-key screeching right now and it hurts.]
After entering the office I became fat, why so fat? [Hey, leave chubby Oki alone! He was cute like that!]
I am Okiayu Ryoutarou (ya ya ya) [The "ya ya ya" part kills me the most. XD]
I love combo meals and eat a lot (ya ya ya)" [I think the combo meals means the cafeteria food or something...]
