[public post] So, so dumb

So, internet went down. Housemate banged on Cashew's door asking what was the problem. Cashew asked if she restarted the modem. Housemate said yes, but it didn't fix the problem.

Cashew checked the problem for herself. The first thing she noticed was that the modem lights were off.

Cashew's inner thoughts: "Um, you didn't notice that all the lights are off?"

The actual problem? Someone uplugged the modem.

Of course, this probably means housemate was too dumb to realize that the modem needs electricity to run or something. Idiot.

[public post] One of those days...

Today is one of those days where everything that can go wrong went wrong.

First, the morning session was a complete miss, since the surgery cabinet keys went missing. The lab couldn't get back to me until around ten, so now my morning session has been postponed by half a day. Which means Cashew is going to be camping out in lab to wait for her next session.

Second, in the middle of decap, a stupid undergrad walked in, despite that I had put up a sign telling people to please do not enter. Thus, one of the brains I was collecting has probably been ruined, since she allowed white light enter the room when I specifically said I need complete darkness. I hate undergraduates.

Third, for some reason I fail at decaping today. I jabbed three out of four brains and they probably won't be useable. But this means I would have to replace the brains with yet more brains. This is probably because I didn't get enough sleep, since I came to school to do morning decaps at 3 in the morning. Anyway, my hand was shaking very badly and I can't seem to get things right. Very, very upsetting.

Fourth, I completely lost one of the animal's blood sample, due to repeated jabbing but cannot seem to hit the heart. Oh yes, did I forget to mention? We use heart sticks (essentially sticking a needle into the heart chamber) to extract blood. I'm usually pretty good at this, with a 90% success rate (the average is around 60%), but today was not one of those days.

Fifth and final problem, when I finished everything, I find that the centrifuge no longer works. I called up a shit ton of people, only to find that the machine is broken, and the alternative machine can't power up. After running around a bit, I find the centrifuge in the basement which would work. Only to find my blood samples have been fucked up and could not extract plasma from two of the three collections. Well, more like the plasma I collected was the wrong color, but there's not much I can do about that at this point in time.

In short, life today was the suckage. I hope tomorrow will be slightly more reasonable. *cries*
